![]() On June 15, 2020, the Small Business Relief Fund lottery was held virtually. On June 9, 2020, City Council approved that City staff may proceed with the lottery to distribute funds to the eligible grantees. The application window was open for two weeks from at 8 am through Jat 5 pm. The Chamber of Commerce and Los Altos Community Foundation assisted with marketing and outreach efforts. Additionally, these eligible businesses must operate out of a commercial storefront, pay sales tax to the City of Los Altos, and must demonstrate they have spent the funds within one month of receiving the grant.Ĭity staff released the official program guidelines and application on with a press release, social media outreach, and an email to businesses with a retail, restaurant, or personal service business license. The program grants restaurant, retail, and personal service businesses with 1-25 employees a $5,000 grant to use on any business expenses. City Council ratified program guidelines and the application at their meeting with direction to raise additional funds to provide grants to more businesses. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Los Altos allocated $250,000 in initial funding for the Small Business Relief Fund program on April 28, 2020. ![]()
